Hope Takes Flight Headquarters

I am writing this from the new home of the Hope Takes Flight Team. We have recently acquired space in an amazing 5,000 square foot multi-media facility in Fort Mill, SC called Bright City Studios. From this facility we will be able to compile, edit, and produce our footage from India into the next realization of the Hope Takes Flight effort.

The rain poured on Friday night as the first cold front of winter made its presence known in the Carolinas. While standing in the brisk fall rain, hanging the "Hope Takes Flight" banner out in front of The Cause Community room, Levi looked over at me and said; "This is going to be a great night."

When the team was in Kolkata, our hotel rooms looked out over a busy four-lane city street, that with the driving habits in India qualifies it for an eight-lane bumper car rally race track. Directly on the other side of the street was a Baptist Mission House used to host, house, and feed missionaries, volunteers, and workers in Kolkata.

These are the g.p.s. coordinates of the largest red light district in Kolkata, India and the home of injustice and heartbreaking cruelty so great it has left me absolutely gutted in it's wake. Every morning in the Sonagachi region of Kolkata 10,000 women and young girls wake up in the gripping hand of the oppressive hell that is the sex slave trade.

Final Day in Pune

Our taxi arrived at the hotel Shantai at 6:30 pm (GMT+5.5), a half hour late, but well within the two hour buffer we allotted for the trend of tardiness that seemed to define everything we attempted to do on this trip. As the monsoon rain poured upon us we began the 3 hour mountain drive from Pune to the Mumbai International Airport.
